    Responsibilities

    The Human Resources Director will manage, plan and coordinate Human Resources activities of the organization to maximize the strategic use of human capital.  This person will originate and lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the ongoing development of a superior workforce.  They will also guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the entire organization.

     

    The Human Resources Director will:

    • Oversee and manage the work of reporting Human Resources staff
    • Development of the Human Resources department, including mentoring and training
    • Coordinate implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organization
    • Identify opportunities for improvement
    • Conduct a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programs, and practices to keep Leadership informed of new development
    • Define all Human Resources training programs and provide necessary education and materials to managers and employees including workshops, manuals, and employee handbooks
    • Monitors and advises managers in the progressive discipline process
    • Encourage the ongoing development of employees and managers
    • Partners with managers to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws
    • Assist and advise Executive Leadership Team on Human Resources issues
    • Strategic partner to Executive Leadership Team in communicating company policy and vision
    • Keeps Executive Leadership Team informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of company goals and those that are not being addressed adequately at the management level
    • Monitor all pay practices and systems for effectiveness and cost containment
    • Monitor national benefits environment for options and cost savings
    • Recommend changes in benefits offered, especially new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention
    • Formulates and recommends policies and objectives for the organization with regard to employee relations
    • Reviews and guides performance improvement process and terminations with managers for non-performing employees
    • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer- employee relationship and promote high-level of employee morale and motivation
    • Monitor organization compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal reporting requirements to maintain minimal company exposure to law suits
    • Direct the preparation of information requested or required for compliance with laws.
    • Serve as primary contact with the company attorney and outside interests
    • Protect the interest of the employees and the organization in accordance with policies and government laws and regulations
    • Skilled in cultural change
    • Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
    • Manage employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, newsletters, employee focus groups, one on one meetings and Ultipro use
    • Other duties may be assigned, based on organizational needs.
    • Strong vendor management skills and experience
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years experience in a high level Human Resources leadership role overseeing all areas of HR to include benefits administration, unemployment laws and compensation.
    • Successful experience may be substituted for academic credential
    • HR Certification preferred
    • Proficient with personal computers and contemporary software applications (MS Office suite, Internet Explorer, word processing, etc.)
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Excellent verbal and communication skills
    • Rapid learner with ability to grasp concepts
    • Strong work ethics
    • Highly adaptable and friendly
