Overview

Ideal Image, based in Tampa Florida, is the largest US retail provider of non-surgical cosmetic procedures with 130 centers across North America.  The company is private-equity backed and has aggressive plans to expand the business by adding more centers and increasing the breadth and depth of services within each center.

 

The company offers a broad range of services including laser hair removal, CoolSculpting, wrinkle reduction and other services that improve physical appearance to enhance self-image and build self-confidence. All services are FDA-cleared/approved and rigorously tested at the company’s R&D center; the services in each center are performed by registered nurses or other medically trained professionals.

Responsibilities

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Instructional Designer designs and produces learning materials Instructor guides, multimedia, and job aids in support of learning programs and courses.  Utilizes Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methods to facilitate achievement of stated learning objectives and to foster the desired levels of human and organizational performance.  Designers will develop solutions for a variety of functional areas and should therefore be able to apply ID principles to all situations.  The Instructional Designer may develop courses and materials in collaboration with others as part of a larger curriculum or program, or may design independently-working directly with a subject matter expert.  

 

  • Collaborates with the Training Director, Curriculum Manager, Trainers and other stakeholders in the analysis and identification of learning objectives
  • Employs instructional design principles appropriate to the audience and work environment
  • Designs courses using a systematic instructional design process with an outcomes-based methodology
  • Develops and designs for Instructor-led Training including instructor scripts, participant materials and activities
  • Develops assessments of learning including tests and exams, and behavioral observations.
  • Develops instructional materials in a variety of media, working with an eLearning or multimedia expert when necessary
  • Maintains training content applying revisions as requested by the business clients, Curriculum Manager or Director
  • Develops instruction that reflects an understanding of the diversity of learners and groups of learners
  • Seeks and Obtains feedback on materials through the use of reviews, pilots, QA testing, etc.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate "train the trainer" sessions as necessary to support training initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Masters Degree preferred
  • Degree in related field (Adult Learning, Instructional Design, HR development etc) preferred
  • Expert in Microsoft Office
  • Minimum of 3 years experience Instructional Design, and/or with the design, development, and production of learning materials and collateral.
  • Experience applying a systematic approach (Such as Addae or SAM)
  • Experience designing a variety of instructional media including virtual classroom, face-to-face, simulation, eLearning, self-paced, job-aids, etc.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and produce results on strict timelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in planning, implementing, and managing creative projects from inception to completion
  • Ability to manage multiple projects varying in scope and priority
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to determine appropriate training solutions including media selection and when to seek vendor solutions
