As a field service engineer, your responsible for providing exceptional service to our field customers by maintaining and repairing all medical equipment, predominately medical grade lasers.  This position requires routine travel to support the companies’ locations across the US.  Ensuring medical equipment is safe, reliable, and in exceptional working condition to eliminate down time.

Responsibilities

Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for providing field support/repair/preventative maintenance of medical equipment for the company’s field locations.
  • Relies on previous experience, independent judgment, and knowledge gained from education/product certifications to install, repair, upgrade, relocate and/or remove medical equipment as well as the ongoing actions to ensure the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all company equipment.
  • Coordinates preventative maintenance schedules per manufacturer and company standards and maintains appropriate inventory of supplies and parts as required.
  • Responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of all medical devices. 
  • Ensures company provided tools and equipment is cared for, maintained, and safeguarded for efficient and effective utilization.
  • Site Support- This will include working on the Laser Support help desk and answer the request of existing centers to ensure that all centers are up to par and are meeting the Ideal Image brand standards.
  • Performs routine clinic visits and ensures medical equipment and local inventory supplies are well maintained, labeled, and organized.
  • Required to submit daily, weekly, and monthly service reports.
  • Providing onsite location support by assisting with resolving any issues or questions that arise.
  • Responsible for tracking and adhering to budgetary requirements of the department.
  • Support management with updating and developing documentation on how to operate and maintain the equipment and train other technicians.
  • Provide exceptional internal and external client service in response to field requests, calls, and general inquiries about medical equipment.
  • Collaborate with Manager and Field Leadership to support with medical equipment training and audits.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering or Laser Technology preferred

 

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 3+ years' experience in related field working directly with mechanical devices, laser preferred.
  • Must have hands-on experience with high voltage
  • Must be able to travel 90% and willing to work on weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to multi-task, use personal judgment and utilize strong decision making, analytical and follow-up skills
  • Proficient with personal computers and contemporary software applications (MS Office suite, Internet Explorer, word processing, etc.)
  • Compelling interpersonal communications skills, influence skills, and rapport-building abilities
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow a task or request from initial start point to final solution.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Able to track and report data in a manner that is clear and precise.
  • Able to adapt to change and be able to make logical decisions in a quick and timely manner.
  • Able to professionally negotiate and manage various vendors and processes simultaneously.
  • Rapid learner with ability to grasp concepts and protocols associated with various computer systems
  • Must maintain a high attention to detail
